Founder and CTO
Dr. SangHyun Lee is a Professor and John L. Tishman Faculty Scholar at the University of Michigan. He received both his MSc and PhD from MIT, and his research focuses on the improvement of occupational safety and health with computer vision, wearable technologies, and computer simulation.

Brenda Jones
CEO
With over 20 years of executive leadership in software technology, Brenda Jones leads Kinetica’s business operations. Prior to joining Kinetica Labs, Ms. Jones served as the VP of Professional Services at MyBuys and Arbortext as well as NSF International’s first Chief Information Officer. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Brad Jodoin
VP Engineering
With significant experience in software development, cloud computing and SaaS, Brad leads Kinetica’s technical operations. Prior to joining Kinetica Labs, he launched a mobile app for team communication and was a senior software engineer for MyBuys, an e-marketing SaaS company. He holds a BSE in Computer Science from University of Michigan.

Shelly Sowers
CFO
Ms. Sowers has held leadership positions in accounting, finance and human resources in the private sector for over 12 years, specializing in innovative technology companies. She also worked in public accounting with Plante Moran for 8 years. Ms. Sowers holds a bachelors in accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA from Wayne State University.

Dr. Meiyin Liu
Scientific Advisor
Dr. Meiyin Liu is a computer vision and ergonomics specialist. She completed her PhD at the University of Michigan, and her research interest focuses on vision-based, on-site human motion capture and activity analysis for monitoring occupational construction workers’ ergonomic risk level, behavior safety and productivity. Dr. Liu is an assistant professor at Rutgers' School of Engineering.

Daeho Kim
Scientific Advisor
Dr. Daeho Kim is a computer vision specialist. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, and his research focus is on deep neural network-powered vision models for real-time, accurate, and scalable site monitoring and hazard detection. In July 2021, Dr. Kim will begin his role as assistant professor of the Civil and Mineral Engineering Department at the University of Toronto.

Michael Young
VP Business Development
Michael is a high-growth technology company veteran with a background in SaaS, simulation software, and IoT. He has held executive positions with Imageware, Transom Technologies, MDI, and Evigia Systems. As co-founder and VP of Product Management at Transom, his team guided the commercial launch of Jack™ Human Simulation Software. He holds a BSEE from Clemson University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Arielle West
Business Development Manager
Arielle is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and brings unique experience to Kinetica as a healthcare professional. Her work includes direct patient care, specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine, as well as working in the Silicon Valley startup world focusing on digital health solutions primarily for musculoskeletal conditions. She received her degree from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Smitha Rai
Product Manager
With 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Agile transformer and Technical Business Analyst, Smitha Rai brings to Kinetica a customer-centric approach and passion for developing products. She has managed highly scalable products by leading diversified, cross-functional teams. She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Mangalore University, India.

Duncan Braun
Software Engineer
Prior to joining Kinetica, Duncan Braun served as a Software Engineer and Professional Services Engineer at Shoptelligence, Magnetic and MyBuys. He brings to the team experience in data transformation, C++ and Python. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan.

Griffith Heller
Software Engineer
Prior to joining Kinetica, Griffith Heller served as the Embedded Systems Director of ARV, an autonomous vehicle design team at the University of Michigan, and as a Software Engineering Intern at Starry Inc. where he developed a LiDAR processing algorithm to create a 3D model of Washington DC. He brings to the team experience in computer vision, web development, Java, C++, and Python. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Humza Khan
Software Engineer
Humza Khan brings to Kinetica Labs experience in a variety of different fields. He previously worked on the Large Hadron Collider using machine learning to separate useful data from noise. Humza earned his degree in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan.

David Gregorka
Strategic Advisor
Dave Gregorka is a Venture Partner with Baird Capital, a Mentor-In-Residence for the University of Michigan Office of Technology Transfer, and serves on a number of corporate and non-profit boards and advisory bodies. Dave earned an MBA and an MS from the University of Michigan. He is a new ventures executive with a successful track record in creating and growing start-up, non-profit, and for-profit organizations in technology, health, and science related fields.

Dr. Jane Park
Consultant
Dr. Jane Park received her PhD from the faculty of medicine and dentistry at the University of Alberta, Canada. She works as a grant specialist to expand Kinetica Labs' research and business scope. In addition, she provides consultation on workers’ health and well-being as well as rehab from musculoskeletal injuries.

Dr. JoonOh Seo
Consultant
Dr. JoonOh Seo is an Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Seoul National University as well as one more master’s in Ergonomics and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on understanding the relationship between occupational workers’ physical demands and their impact on operations from an ergonomics perspective.
